Job summary

HMSA Careers is seeking a capable finance analyst to perform complex financial analysis, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and support regulatory reporting. You will analyze data, communicate findings to management, and contribute to audit workpapers and controls testing.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting/finance or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, plus strong Excel and MS Office skills. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with emphasis in accounting, finance, or other business-related field and three years of related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience in accounting/finance functions.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Word, Outlook/Email and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to Excel.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex financial analysis with minimal supervision and report findings to management.
• Reviews and reconciles medium to high complexity balance sheet accounts (cash, revenue, receivable, expense, and liability accrual).
• Analyze financial data for significant fluctuations and communicate with appropriate units to verify transactions.
• Prepare and provide account reconciliations, audit workpapers, and other documentation for internal and external audit reviews.
• Actively participates in system testing and process improvement projects; develops processes and trainings as needed.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication for audit reviews and updates to compliance guidelines.
