Job summary

Sedgwick in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Senior Disability Representative to manage complex disability claims. You will evaluate medical documentation, determine benefits due, and ensure timely payments and adjustments.

You will review attending physician statements, coordinate return-to-work strategies, negotiate accommodations, and guide claims through external vendors or physician reviews while maintaining strong client service.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Three (3) years of benefits or disability case/claims management experience.
• State certification or licensing in statutory leaves preferred or may be required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Make independent claim determinations to approve complex disability claims or recommend denial.
• Review complex medical information to determine disability status.
• Oversee comorbidities, concurrent plans, and complex ADA accommodations.
• Determine benefits due and make timely payments/adjustments for workers' comp and SSDI.
• Negotiate return to work with or without accommodations.
• Coordinate referrals to outside vendors or physician reviews.
