Job summary

MetLife’s Global Customer Service and Operations team seeks a Senior Bridge Specialist to manage the STD-to-LTD transition for claimants, ensuring accurate liability decisions and timely bridging actions. You will document evidence from medical, vocational, and non-medical sources while coordinating with physicians, attorneys, and other partners to support well-reasoned outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of STD/LTD claims experience.
• Ability to exercise independent judgement and decision making.
• Strong critical thinking and analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple systems and technology resources.
• Call center experience in an insurance setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead complex disability claim adjudication across STD-to-LTD transition with contractual and regulatory guidance.
• Create clear claim documentation and action plans synthesizing medical, vocational, and non-medical information.
• Oversee timely claim reviews in a fast-paced environment ensuring compliance with plan provisions and regulations.
• Manage the most complex caseload independently with prioritization and claimant engagement.
• Develop return-to-work strategies based on functional capacity and prognosis.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to support investigations and team performance.
