Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking an executive to lead the training strategy for T&D operations across multiple locations. The role focuses on development of progression schools, curriculum roadmaps, and safety training programs aligned with OSHA requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, organizational learning, safety, engineering, business, or related field.
  • 10+ years in energy or utility training leadership and/or workforce development.
  • Experience leading progression schools and field-based qualification programs.
  • Experience designing compliance and safety training including OSHA 29 CFR 1910.269.
  • Knowledge of ADDIE/SAT and evaluation instruments to measure training impact.
  • Experience establishing or scaling apprenticeship programs (union environment).
  • 5+ years of people leadership, building diverse talent and accountability.
  • Strong program management with budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy and direction for Utility Training for T&D operations and support groups.
  • Evolve progression-school strategy with curricula roadmaps and readiness criteria.
  • Establish SAT/ADDIE governance for analysis, design, development, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Design evaluation instruments and outcome measures to demonstrate impact.
  • Oversee training records governance and audit readiness for programs.
  • Develop annual training forecast and multi-year capability plans with budgets.
