Job summary

PayPal is seeking a Sr. Director, US Regulatory Legal to provide strategic legal leadership across US federal and state regulatory relationships. You will be the primary interface with US supervisory authorities and advise executive leadership on regulatory risk as PayPal expands its regulated products and services.

You will lead a team of attorneys, influence business strategy, and design proactive compliance strategies to mitigate regulatory risk while supporting growth across the US market.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in US financial services regulatory law.
• JD from an accredited law school; active bar membership.
• Experience at a federal regulatory agency or in-house regulatory role at a payments company/b fintech.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of US regulatory attorneys across jurisdictions.
• Advise executives on regulatory risk and strategy.
• Oversee US federal and state regulatory matters (CFPB, Fed, OCC, FDIC, FinCEN, state regulators).
• Monitor regulatory developments and craft proactive compliance strategies.
• Represent PayPal before US regulators and industry groups.
• Collaborate with Global Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Risk, and Government Relations.
• Guide regulatory examinations and product approvals.
• Shape long-term regulatory positioning and continuous improvement in practices.
