Job Overview

This strategic role oversees Treasury, Tax, and Cash Disbursements functions, including accounts payable and payroll, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, and operational efficiency. It engages with the Hospital, Research, Practice Plans, Foundation, and Corporate Services at an enterprise level.

The Senior Director manages liquidity, tax compliance, and disbursement processes, collaborating with various departments to ensure timely payments, regulatory adherence, and effective cash management. The role aims to ensure financial sustainability through risk mitigation, compliance, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  1. Treasury Management:
  2. Oversee cash management, monitor cash flow, and manage liquidity.
  3. Develop cash management strategies, including short-term and long-term plans.
  4. Manage banking relationships, negotiate terms, and optimize credit lines.
  5. Ensure bond and debt compliance.
  6. Develop and enforce treasury policies and controls.
  7. Maintain treasury information systems for accurate reporting.
  1. Tax Compliance & Strategy:
  2. Oversee tax strategy, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  3. Lead tax return preparation and filing, including 990 filings.
  4. Stay updated on tax law changes and advise management.
  5. Coordinate with auditors and tax advisors.
  6. Assess tax implications of new initiatives.
  1. Cash Disbursements (Accounts Payable & Payroll):
  2. Lead accounts payable for timely processing.
  3. Oversee payroll accuracy and compliance.
  4. Implement process improvements, automation, and controls.
  1. Leadership & Team Management:
  2. Manage and develop teams across functions.
  3. Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment.
  4. Manage budgets and resources.
  1. Strategic Financial Leadership:
  2. Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  3. Align financial infrastructure with hospital goals.
  4. Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required); Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of Treasury-related experience (required).
  • Deep understanding of treasury management, tax regulations, and nonprofit finance (preferred).
  • Leadership experience managing teams.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • CPA and/or Certified Treasury Professional certifications (preferred).
