About The Job

As Director, you will lead a resource portfolio in a way that maximizes scale, accelerates business results, increases capabilities and enables the growth of Google Cloud and Core businesses. To guarantee that the organization focuses on the most crucial opportunities for the business, you will collaborate closely with leaders from Integrated Planning, Cloud Supply Chain Management, and strategic partners across Technical Infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading a group that integrates and optimizes the work of more than a dozen teams across Google to make sure that Google has a single, well integrated source of truth for demand. You will also work across several deep technical teams to identify and prioritize opportunities to streamline capability delivery to enable faster Google growth.

In this role, you will lead the engineering and operations teams that manage demand and capacity across products and locations worldwide. You will align finance, sales, operations, product, and engineering teams across Google to a converged understanding of long-range growth plans through planning execution, improved product efficiency, and consistent performance to product operating service levels. You will lead critical initiatives around driving forecasting, demand and capacity planning improvements, improving fungibility and capacity management systems, and driving product improvements to drive efficient fleet utilization. You will deliver large-scale engineering and operations improvements and influence cross-functional partners, leading strategic reviews with executives.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $320,000-$445,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and advocate for a forward-thinking, long-range strategy for global data center space and power planning, anticipating future technological advancements, especially in Machine Learning (ML).
  • Lead the paradigm shift from traditional machine-based planning to a Spatial model, and from busy power to measured power, driving technical, process, and cultural changes needed.
  • Define and articulate strategic direction for how Google thinks about and plans for power in the era of advanced ML/AI. Drive execution of all long-range data center and power capacity plans, ensuring delivery to meet Google's scaling requirements.
  • Oversee the operational execution of space and power allocation, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize existing data center and power resources, maximizing capacity and efficiency. Develop and implement strategies for harvesting underutilized space and power, deferring or minimizing new capital investments.
