Job summary

NASTAD seeks a visionary Senior Director, Syndemic Approaches, to lead and grow its portfolio including Drug User Health, Hepatitis, and HIV Prevention. You will set strategy, oversee more than $18 million in braided funding, and advance people-centered integrated public health across partners.

The role involves coaching Directors, aligning stakeholders, managing complex budgets and federal cooperative agreements, and serving as PI on grants to expand funding opportunities and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher; equivalent training/experience.
• 15+ years progressive leadership preferred in syndemic or integrated programs.
• At least 5 years leading complex federal cooperative agreements.
• Experience managing cross-disciplinary teams and programs.
• Public health/governmental department experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, strategic vision, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow NASTAD’s Syndemic Approaches portfolio (Drug User Health, Hepatitis, HIV Prevention).
• Develop vision and strategy for syndemic work and translate needs into organizational actions.
• Oversee budgets, staffing models, and federal grants; serve as PI on major awards.
• Coach Directors and Associate Directors; build leadership across teams.
• Foster collaboration, accountability, and cross-program integration.
