Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks an Associate Dean of Students to provide leadership for student assistance and intervention, chair the CARE team, and coordinate with Well-being units to support student success and well-being. This is a full-time, annual appointment reporting to the Dean of Students.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel Administration, Counseling, or another related field.
• Seven years of relevant higher education related experience.
• Experience managing student crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact in the Dean of Students Office for non-conduct related issues.
• Provide leadership for development, implementation and administration of policies, procedures and protocols that impact student success.
• Supervise professional staff and graduate students in Dean of Students office.
• Serve as a Title IX Deputy in issues of sexual misconduct and harassment.
• Coordinate the Medical Withdrawal process.
• Ensure accurate records management and follow up for student complaints received by Associate Dean.
• Serve in an ombudsman and advocacy role for students needing assistance in navigating campus policies or difficult situations.
• Communicate and coordinate with faculty and staff members regarding students of concern.
• Document important contacts and conversations in appropriate data management systems.
