The IT, database and application world loves Postgres. If you work with mission critical enterprise applications, development teams, data scientists or anyone wrangling data, you’ll probably see a sticker with the tusks and trunk of the Postgres elephant on the lid of a nearby laptop. EDB has a lot to do with this progress and commitment to enable Postgres.

Role

We are looking for a driven, passionate Senior Director, Sales - Public Sector who possesses a strong understanding of how best to leverage EDB products for the Public Sector. EDB has served the Public Sector for over 15 years, has all the required Federal certifications, and has large happy customers in every major segment. However, the opportunity is tremendous and we are just scratching the surface.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and actively manage our sales team to oversee and exceed yearly sales goals through outbound/inbound leads management, knowing their customer and strategically positioning the value of EnterpriseDB’s products to key decision makers
  • Experience recruiting and managing partners and distributors to accelerate growth and expand in the market
  • Deep experience in US Federal Civilian, Department of Defence (DoD)
  • Develop a detailed account and forecasting plan in line with company wide goals
  • Prioritize agencies that provide the best opportunity areas for EDB growth
  • Build strong relationships resulting in growth opportunities and guide complex sales negotiations
  • Establish and expand knowledge of our products, competitors and industry trends
  • Collaborate with Sales Engineering and Sales Enablement team to present pre-sales demos and assessments
Requirements
  • 10+ years experience in a public sector sales leadership position
  • Strong desire and hands on style to drive and build the Federal team
  • BS degree in Business or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong penchant for reaching Sales goals, driving teams to succeed and creating Sales strategies to reach lofty goals
  • Experience hiring, developing and retaining top talent in a competitive Public Sector market
Plusses
  • Experience with databases, database technologies or data centers
  • Experience scaling a team in a rapidly growing company
