The Senior Director, Safety & Environmental Health Programs owns the enterprise safety and environmental health function for Insight Global — spanning corporate operations, all staffing and consulting lines of business, and the safety and environmental health of every team delivering services on a customer site. The role is accountable for a single, unified program that scales across markets with materially different regulatory profiles, including commercial and industrial staffing, technical and field services, government contracts, and healthcare. This is a people and process leadership role. The Senior Director manages safety and environmental health professionals across program design, learning management, compliance, and investigations. Site and regional safety managers embedded on customer engagements are funded through customer contracts and report formally into the Delivery organization, with a dotted line into this role for technical direction, standards, credentialing, quality review, and escalation. Success depends on leading through matrixed authority as effectively as through direct authority.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise program ownership. Own policy, standards, governance, and the safety management system across all business lines, with market-specific overlays for government, healthcare, technical services, and staffing rather than parallel programs. Define the operating model, decision rights, and escalation paths across corporate, Delivery, and customer-funded site teams.
- Leadership. Manage the corporate safety and environmental health team; provide dotted-line technical leadership to contract-funded site and regional safety managers, including credentialing standards, technical direction, and escalation authority. Partner with Delivery on role standards, staffing ratios, and billable scope so engagements are resourced and priced for the risk they carry.
- Environmental health. Lead environmental health standards, exposure prevention, industrial hygiene coordination, workplace environmental assessments, emergency preparedness related to environmental health events, and coordination with internal stakeholders and applicable regulatory agencies.
- Program design & market expansion. Build safety programs for new markets and service offerings before launch. Review opportunities, SOWs, and contract vehicles for safety risk, flow-down obligations, and compliance responsibilities; define required training, documentation, staffing, and cost. Address co-employment and host-employer obligations specific to staffing.
- Learning management. Own curriculum design, delivery, platform administration, competency verification, and completion tracking. Maintain a credentialing framework covering OSHA construction and general industry, NFPA 70E, healthcare and government contract requirements, and customer-mandated programs, with audit-ready records.
- Compliance. Maintain compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local regulations plus the frameworks governing the Company’s markets. Own internal audits and corrective action closure, manage prequalification and contractor safety ratings, and serve as point of contact for regulatory inspections, inquiries, and citations.
- Investigations. Own investigations for safety and environmental health matters, including SIF events, near misses, exposure events, and environmental health incidents. Set investigation standards, root cause methodology, and privilege protocols with Legal; drive systemic findings back into program design and training. Maintain safety and environmental health data systems (e.g., Origami) supporting operational, customer, and regulatory reporting.
- Performance reporting. Set and report enterprise leading and lagging indicators (TRIR, DART, SIF potential, near-miss reporting rate, training completion, audit closure) and material risk to executive leadership; represent the Company’s safety posture to executives, customers, regulators, and prime contractors.

- Outstanding communication skills and the presence to represent the Company to executives, customers, and regulators; high degree of professional ethics and sound judgment
