Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia in Northern Virginia seeks a Senior Director to guide the UVA | Northern Virginia initiative. You will lead educational programs, both online and in-person, coordinating scheduling and delivery across multiple units.

The role requires strategic leadership, strong data-driven decision making, and the ability to manage budgets, partnerships, and campus operations on-site in Fairfax. Travel and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience: 7+ years related professional experience, including 3+ years of formal managerial experience.
• Preferred: Master's degree.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex operating budgets and cross-functional teams in higher education or similar organizations.
• Proven ability to develop strategic partnerships with external organizations and government agencies.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and monitors performance metrics and operational dashboards to evaluate program effectiveness, campus utilization, enrollment, and strategic initiatives.
• Provides leadership and coordination for development, implementation, and ongoing support of new and existing educational programs.
• Develops budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation in partnership with the Provost’s Office to meet revenue and expense targets.
• Directs campus operations including facilities management, space planning, safety, and contracts with external providers.
• Develops strategic partnerships with academic units, government agencies, healthcare systems, corporations, and community stakeholders to expand offerings.
• Collaborates on market research and trends in adult education with external providers.
• Manages and develops a team of 4 FTE.
