Job summary

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) seeks a Senior Director, Community Planning, Real Estate Strategy and Investment, to lead RWJF’s real estate and community planning initiatives in Newark, NJ. You will align site selection with mission-driven community needs, coordinating resources, governance, and external partners to ensure decisions are transparent and impactful.

Reporting to the AVP of Foundation Services and partnering with the COO, you will guide engagement with Newark partners,

• Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Strong facilitation, partner management, and consensus-building abilities.
• Experience communicating to senior executives and boards.
• Extensive real estate, development, and community engagement experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as RWJF’s lead for real estate/facilities initiatives.
• Translate complex information into decision-ready materials for executives and boards.
• Coordinate resources and external partners to support decisions.
• Manage external partners and ensure alignment with leadership priorities.
• Lead community engagement related to site selection and development in Newark.
