Hidden Jobs in the United States is seeking a senior leader to own product and platform security end to end for a cloud, payments, and hardware platform serving restaurants and local businesses. Reporting directly to the CISO, the role shifts security from a compliance-led to an engineering-led function.

You will embed security engineers with developers, build paved roads, run SDLC, threat modeling, and software supply chain controls, and grow the security engineering team as scope expands.

Role overview

This leadership role owns product and platform security end to end for a cloud, payments, and hardware platform serving restaurants and local businesses. Reporting directly to the CISO, the role shifts security from a compliance-led, reactive function to an engineering-led, proactive one, embedding security engineers alongside developers and building paved roads that make the secure path the default.

Responsibilities

• Partner with product and engineering leaders to transform how security is built into the product portfolio, leveraging AI, automation, and innovation
• Own shared services, guardrails, and secure defaults, consolidating overlapping tooling into a coherent self-service platform
• Run application and cloud security programs, including the secure development lifecycle, threat modeling, and software supply chain integrity
• Build developer enablement through embedding, tooling adoption, training, and a security champions network that extends the team's reach
• Lead offensive security and vulnerability management in a purple-team rhythm with detection engineering, and own hardware security as part of the broader remit
• Lead and grow an existing security engineering team, hiring additional senior engineers as scope expands

Requirements

• Track record running a multi-team security engineering organization, not just a single application security queue
• Depth in cloud-native security, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline security, containers, and microservices
• Demonstrated success shifting security left through self-service and paved roads while reducing developer friction
• Experience being treated as a peer by senior engineering leaders and changing how a product organization builds
• Judgment about where to automate, where to embed engineers, and where to hold a firm line
• Engineering or software development background, ideally from a modern SaaS or cloud-native company rather than a heavily regulated, policy-driven environment

• Base salary ranges from $215,000 to $440,000 USD depending on geographic zone, plus equity, bonus or commission eligibility, and a comprehensive benefits package
