Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Director for Pharmacy Prior Authorization and Call Center. In this role, you will manage over 200 employees, drive operational improvements in pharmacy care, and work closely with the Medical Director.

This hybrid role allows for in-office collaboration twice a week. The ideal candidate will hold a PharmD, possess extensive management experience, and a strong understanding of pharmacy benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires a current active and unrestricted California Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license.
• 12 years of prior experience in managed care health plan or pharmacy benefit management.
• 6 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of over 200 employees in pharmacy prior authorization and call center processes.
• Design and execute operational plans to optimize efficiency and cost.
• Collaborate with vendors to optimize patient access to medications.
