J&J Pulmonary Hypertension is a leader in the field of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Our portfolio of PAH treatments covers the spectrum of disease, from WHO Functional Class (FC) II through to FC IV, with oral, inhaled and intravenous medications.

Role Summary

The Senior Director, PH Field Medical leads a large and multi-level organization of highly qualified MSLs, Field Directors, and a Director of MSL Excellence to provide fair, balanced, and objective scientific information and education to healthcare professionals and internal partners. This role involves setting and executing the vision, collaborating with stakeholders, and leading the strategic development of the field medical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead a national organization of MSLs and Field Directors, supporting scientific, research, and educational initiatives related to J&J's PH products.
• Develop and implement strategies for engaging opinion leaders and community practitioners to support the PH organization.
• Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of the MSL team, providing coaching, mentorship, and career development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support evidence generation, including clinical trials and research initiatives.
• Set and communicate organizational strategy, manage resources, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Strategy & Leadership

• Define and implement the vision for the PH MSL teams engaging with US academic and community stakeholders.
• Develop innovative stakeholder engagement strategies and execute launch plans for new products.
• Monitor the healthcare environment and identify opportunities for educational and research initiatives.
• Lead resource allocation, strategic planning, and collaboration across internal and external partners.

People Development

• Manage the national PH MSL team, ensuring alignment with business goals and company values.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide development opportunities, and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning efforts to build a strong team.

Requirements

• A PharmD, PhD, or MD is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant Medical Affairs and/or Clinical experience.
• Proven success in leading field-based teams, evidence generation, and scientific communication.
• Up to 60% domestic travel annually.
• Residency or fellowship experience is highly preferred.
• People management experience required.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $193,000 to $333,500. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, and performance bonuses.
