Job Overview

Responsible for the day-to-day operations and longer term planning for manufacturing functions, including manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, purchasing and shipping/receiving activities. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures.

A key member of TE Energy team, directing Operations and responsible for the planning, controlling, manufacturing, production of goods, and service delivery. Operations is also responsible for quality service delivery and supply chain management needed to ensure materials arrive to produce goods and ensure that orders are processed and shipped appropriately. In addition to on time deliveries to global customers, the U.S. location is responsible for supplying critical function components to global customers for rapid end item configurations and delivery to customers.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  1. Direct oversight to ensure that operations is running efficiently and effectively, and that demand is met.
  2. Partner with the BU General Manager and other senior leaders in a matrixed organization in the development and formulation of long and short-range strategic planning, budgets (including capital investment), policies, programs, and objectives.
  3. Drive innovation management through the business keeping abreast of market trends and creatively applying new technologies across the entire operations value chain.
  4. Monitor and oversee Quality and Continuous Improvement (TEOA) initiatives to enable the BU to meet or exceed plan targets. This includes manufacturing, procurement, and business processes.
  5. Define required strategies and define infrastructures and organizational structures to meet company, customer and market expectations proactively.
  6. Develop, coordinate and drive the operations plans and establishes procedures for maintaining high standards of operations to ensure that products and processes conform to established customer and company standards.
  7. Cascade strategic objectives for Operations functional leadership. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for direct and matrixed reports based on the strategic direction and needs of the business.
  8. Work closely with Human Resources to lead the team with integrity and to establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment that promotes employee wellbeing, engagement & quality of life.
  9. Develop and deliver clear and concise communications both up, down, and sideways across the organization.
  10. Organize Plant and supplier’s capacity and technical capabilities to meet planned production schedules.
  11. Monitor and oversee operational activities with the objective of maximizing the use of organizational resources to meet and/or exceed established KPI’s (TEOA (Lean), Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.).
  12. Drive organization structures and programs (footprint changes, migration/localization, new product launch, process and equipment requirements) to meet BU/regional goals.
  13. Monitor and oversee the full value chain from procurement and production to shipment and beyond.
  14. Work actively with supply chain leaders to ensure that supply is consistently synchronized to demand to maximize revenue and delivery performance. Take a holistic view of global capacity and through the S&OP process plan the necessary global capacity expansions or shifts to align regional supply to regional demand.
  15. Work closely with Plant Controllers and Plant Managers to understand spending activities & trends, how they match up to targets, and course correct.
  16. Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
What your background should look like:
  1. Ten or more years in a senior leadership role in a field related to our industry.
  2. Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, backed by previous professional success.
  3. Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.
  4. Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.
  5. Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed and efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.
  6. Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.
  7. Excellent executive presence, ability to present to senior leadership.
  8. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working in a matrix organization.
  9. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  10. Familiarity with ERP systems and their role in manufacturing.
  11. English speaking and other languages advantageous.
  12. Experience in developing budgets and business plans.
  13. Superior negotiation skills for both internal and external purposes.
  14. Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics, using business management software (ex: SAP, ERP, CRM).

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $222,500 - 333,700 (subject to change dependent on physical location).

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits.
