We offer uniquely interesting and meaningful work, opportunities for growth, and a supportive environment that values inclusion, wellbeing, flexibility, and comprehensive benefits. This is work that transforms the lives of patients, and the careers of those who do it.

Position Summary:

The Senior Director, Global Commercial Strategy Oncology – Precision Medicine will be a key member of the Oncology Global Commercial Strategy leadership team, responsible for setting the global precision medicine and diagnostic commercialization strategy across the oncology portfolio. This role will focus on accelerating pipeline success, maximizing the value of in-line brands, and unlocking sustainable growth by ensuring biomarker-driven therapies and their companion diagnostics (CDx) are ready for timely patient access and adoption (Ph1 – Ph3 and in-line). The successful candidate will demonstrate strong strategic thinking, matrix influence, and deep oncology and diagnostics market expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strategic precision medicine insights, including biomarker prevalence, testing patterns, and competitive and market dynamics, that inform enterprise decision-making, investment choices, and portfolio value.
  • Serve as a core member of Global Product Teams (GPTs) across relevant assets and participate early in drug development planning to shape biomarker and diagnostic strategy from first-in-human through launch.
  • Partner closely with Tumor Leads, Development, Diagnostics Development, Medical, Market Access, Business Development, and regional and local commercial teams to drive integrated franchise plans and end-to-end accountability.
  • Embed precision medicine strategies into BMS commercialization processes globally and locally, ensuring consistent execution and capability building across markets.
  • Support launch readiness and lifecycle management for pipeline and in-line assets, including scenario planning and risk mitigation for biomarker-driven indications.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including asset evaluation, diagnostic partnerships, and external collaborations with diagnostic and laboratory partners.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Strategy & Operations, Market Foresight, and Project Management teams to ensure operational excellence and cross-tumor alignment.
  • Prepare and present business cases, strategic recommendations, and performance updates to senior leadership.
  • Mentor and develop talent within the franchise, supporting succession planning and team capability building.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
  • BS degree in business, life sciences, or related field, advanced degree (MBA, PhD, PharmD) preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in oncology commercial strategy, marketing, diagnostics, or related roles within the pharmaceutical/biotech/diagnostics industry, including significant global commercial strategy experience.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed global environment.
  • Deep understanding of the oncology market landscape, including solid tumors and hematology, and of the precision medicine and companion diagnostic ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated experience with US and global drug and CDx launches, and with early asset and new product development.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and communication skills.
  • Experience in lifecycle management and business development is preferred; experience in diagnostics, laboratory, or commercial training and development is a plus.
  • Strategic agility and commercial acumen
  • Precision medicine and diagnostic launch excellence
