Senior Director of Portfolio Planning, DECE - 25124

Position Summary:

The Division of Early Childhood Education (DECE) supports early childhood education programs for NYC children in public elementary schools, Pre-K Centers, and NYC Public Schools (NYCPS) contracted settings, including NYCEECs and FCC programs. DECE aims to provide families with access to high-quality early childhood options for children birth to five, in diverse settings, supporting their growth and development. Working with families and programs, DECE ensures children are engaged, nurtured, and supported.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop data-informed systems to identify community and family needs for seat allocation plans across early childhood settings.
  • Engage stakeholders to support strategic policy and financial decisions for seat utilization.
  • Manage RFP processes ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Leverage local, state, and federal funds to support childcare provision.
Reports To:

Chief of Systems Planning

Direct Reports:

Director of Portfolio Planning

Key Relationships:

Deputy Chancellor, Chiefs of various divisions, NYCPS offices, City and State agencies, advocacy groups, and childcare providers.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Master’s degree in relevant fields plus 2 years of progressive experience in education administration, including 18 months in a managerial role, or equivalent experience.

Preferred: MA, MBA, or MPA; knowledge of NYCPS early childhood system; strong program management skills; proficiency with software tools; effective collaboration and communication skills; education experience; ability to adapt to change.

Salary:

$154,635 - $170,098

Note: Internal candidates will earn at least their current salary.
