Position Summary

Are you ready to make a meaningful impact at a fast-growing, patient-centered organization? Join the Ivy Rehab Network as our Senior Director of Operations, M&A - a pivotal leadership role driving the successful integration and operational excellence of newly acquired practices.

Join Ivy Rehab’s dedicated team where you’re not just an employee, but a valued teammate! Together, we provide world-class care in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) services. Our culture promotes authenticity, inclusion, growth, community, and a passion for exceptional care for every patient.

Job Description

Reporting to the President of the Ivy Rehab Physical Therapy division, the Senior Director of Operations, M&A will serve as the operational point person for Ivy’s most critical M&A transactions. Working closely with Ivy’s M&A team and incoming partners, you’ll lead operational due diligence pre-closing, build strong relationships with partner leadership, and ensure seamless Operational transitions into the Ivy network.

This role is not focused on cross-functional integration, but rather hands-on operational leadership, delivering business continuity, cultural alignment, and performance excellence during the first 6 months post-acquisition. You’ll serve as the Ops leader and guide for new M&A partners navigating Ivy’s resources.

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, private equity-backed organization with a dynamic M&A environment and tremendous potential for growth.

This position offers the opportunity to work remotely, with a strong preference for candidates located in the NY/NJ region, and requires up to 75% travel for business meetings and field activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead operational continuity and performance across 2–5 recent acquisitions at a time, ensuring team engagement and retention, and maintaining a clinical excellence culture.
  • Lead new M&A partners in their integrations journey, ensuring they keep the right balance between core business focus and integrations execution. New M&A partners will be reporting into this role for the first 6 months post-closing
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with acquired partners and local leadership teams.
  • Conduct operational due diligence pre-close to identify risks, opportunities, and synergies; and execute on these opportunities post-close
  • Partner with Ivy’s integration team to support effective change management strategies and rollout plans
  • Handover operations oversight and new M&A partner relationship to the core Ivy Ops team once integrations phase has been completed (roughly 6 months)

To Excel In This Role, You Should Possess

  • 10+ years of healthcare operations leadership in a multi-site environment; Physical Therapy experience is a plus but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through complex operational changes with calm, clarity, and confidence.
  • Deep understanding of M&A and Integrations processes
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, solve problems, and execute scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with high emotional intelligence.
  • Hands-on, action-oriented leadership style and strong organizational skills.

Why Choose Ivy?

  • Best Employer: A prestigious honor to be recognized by Modern Healthcare, signifying excellence in our industry and providing an outstanding workplace culture.
  • Exceeding Expectations:Deliver best-in-class care and witness exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Incentives Galore:Eligibility for full benefits package beginning within your first month of employment. Generous PTO (Paid Time Off) plans and paid holidays.
  • Exceptional Partnerships:Collaborate with leaders like Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) and educational partners for continuous learning.

Compensation for this role can range from: $150,000.00 - $175,000.00 based on experience.
