PROGRAM AND JOB DESCRIPTION:

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) seeks a dynamic Director of Programmatic Fiscal Affairs to join its Bureau of the Controller in the Division of Finance.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• Assume oversight responsibility for the respective units of Cash Management, Miscellaneous Payments, and bureau-wide reporting and fiscal data analysis.
• Engage in cost analysis and feasibility studies of public health intervention programs.
• Perform economic evaluations and health impact assessments.
• Generate financial variance reports.
• Lead research projects related to staff compensation and program model assessments.
• Collaborate with divisions within DOHMH to improve process efficiencies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable standards and directives.
• Guide preparation of reports on expenses and obligations.
• Coordinate special projects as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

1. A master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological or environmental science or in public health.

To be appointed to Assignment Level II and above, candidates must have:

1. A doctorate degree with specialization in an appropriate field and one year of relevant experience; or
2. A master's degree and three years of relevant experience; or
3. Equivalent education and/or experience.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
