Job summary

SSC Services for Education, part of Compass Group, seeks a dynamic Senior Director of Facilities to oversee campus facilities operations at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi. The role covers maintenance, custodial, grounds, and central plant operations, driving excellence in safety, service, and efficiency.

You will partner with campus leadership, manage operating and capital budgets, mentor teams, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering an exceptional student and staff environment.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in Facilities Management, Plant Operations, Engineering, or related operations environments.
  • Experience managing large-scale maintenance, custodial, and grounds operations.
  • Strong financial acumen including budget management and P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams, driving results, and exceeding performance goals.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We're seeking a dynamic Facilities Director to oversee all aspects of campus facilities operations, including Maintenance, Custodial, Grounds, and Central Plant Operations. In this highly visible leadership role, you'll serve as the primary partner to our higher education client, driving operational excellence while creating a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day facilities operations across maintenance, custodial, grounds, and infrastructure services.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Facilities management experience within higher education, healthcare, large campuses, or similarly complex environments.
  • Experience overseeing central plant operations and infrastructure systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent leadership experience.
  • Professional certifications such as FMP, CFM, LEED, or related credentials are a plus.
