Job summary

Diocese of San Jose seeks a mission-driven Senior Director to lead the Evangelization Department, overseeing Faith Formation, Intercultural Ministries, and Youth/Young Adult programs. The role shapes strategy, staffing, and partnerships to advance lifelong faith formation and missionary discipleship across parishes and schools.

The Senior Director reports to the Bishop, serves on the Cabinet, and leads multiple ministries with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and transformative

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in pastoral leadership management or nonprofit leadership.
• Master’s Degree in Theology, Education, Pastoral Ministry, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience directing and managing pastoral ministry, including knowledge of evangelization, catechesis, faith formation, and organizational leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic plan to grow the DSJ Catholic community and fulfill the mission of drawing all to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Lead implementation of Pastoral Plan priorities for ministry across the Diocesan Evangelization Office.
• Provide guidance and leadership for established evangelization ministries (Faith Formation, Intercultural Ministries, LAY Leadership Formation, etc.).
• Coach and develop Evangelization team members; review organization design for effectiveness.
• Oversee budgets and collaborate with CFO/COO to manage finances and reporting.
