Job summary

CT Mechanical, a division of Comfort Temp Company, seeks a Director of Estimating or Director of Preconstruction and Estimating to lead its commercial HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical estimating across Florida. You will direct the bid process, guide the estimating team, and align with Operations and leadership to protect margin.

The Director of Preconstruction and Estimating adds leadership of Business Development, market strategy, and pipeline development, while maintaining estimating ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive estimating experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, mechanical contracting, or related fields.
• 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing Estimators, estimating workflow, or preconstruction professionals.
• Expert knowledge of bid strategy, takeoffs, labor drivers, cost data, and margin protection.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam, Excel, and estimating platforms (QuoteSoft, Trimble AutoBid, Viewpoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating department's direction, structure, and day-to-day performance.
• Oversee the full bid lifecycle from invitation review to turnover and award.
• Partner with Operations, Project Management, and field leadership to reflect execution realities.
• Drive margin protection, pricing discipline, and data-driven improvements.
