Job summary

Quantum-Si in the United States seeks an experienced Senior Director of Engineering to drive innovation in next generation protein sequencing instrumentation and consumables. This leader will grow the engineering team and oversee mechanical, electrical, optical, and fluidics engineering, plus consumable engineering and systems integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in engineering leadership and 12+ years engineering experience.
• Experience bringing scientific instruments to market and managing complex projects.
• Strong understanding of product development, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop high performing engineering teams and instrument software developers.
• Develop and execute engineering strategy aligned with company goals.
• Collaborate with R&D, Commercial, Operations, and vendors to align efforts with market needs.
• Plan and deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Provide technical guidance for scientific instruments meeting quality and regulatory standards.
• Oversee development of instrument control software and hardware/consumables integration.
• Lead systems integration to verify instrumentation and maintain fleet.
