Summary:
The Senior Director of Development for Corporate & Foundation Relations is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s comprehensive corporate and foundation fundraising strategies. This role will focus on developing and executing strategies to engage corporate and foundation partners, secure major gifts, and build long-term relationships that advance the organization’s mission. The Senior Director will work closely with the leadership team to align corporate and foundation giving with organizational priorities, ensuring a high level of stewardship and maximizing revenue from these sources.

Principal Functional Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate and foundation fundraising strategy to meet short- and long-term financial goals. Work collaboratively with senior leadership and program teams to align fundraising priorities with the organization’s strategic initiatives. Lead and oversee the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of corporate and foundation prospects.
  2. Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate and foundation prospects and donors to cultivate and steward relationships with key partners, ensuring strong, long-term engagement. Maintain a deep understanding of each partner’s goals, priorities, and philanthropic interests to tailor effectively. Work closely with the Board of Directors, senior leaders, and staff to leverage their networks and increase engagement with prospective corporate and foundation supporters.
  3. Fundraising and Revenue Generation: Lead efforts to secure corporate sponsorships, grants, and donations that support specific programs, initiatives, and the organization’s overall mission. Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, including multi-year partnerships, naming opportunities, and programmatic grants. Achieve revenue targets through strategic outreach and proactive solicitation of corporate and foundation grants and gifts.
  4. Reporting, Stewardship and Compliance: Ensure timely submission of proposals, reports, and updates to corporate and foundation donors, in compliance with grant agreements and expectations. Oversee and manage donor recognition efforts, ensuring that corporate and foundation partners are acknowledged appropriately. Track progress towards fundraising goals and provide regular reports to leadership, ensuring alignment with budgetary and strategic objectives.
  5. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fundraising, corporate relations, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in corporate and foundation fundraising, including securing major gifts and multi-year partnerships
  • Knowledge of grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising best practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree
  • Fluent with Raiser’s Edge software

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment. Requires limited travel to see out of town alumni and prospects, as well as occasional night and weekend events or assignments.
