What You Will Be Doing
ChargePoint cloud software solutions manage hundreds of thousands of EV charging hardware ports that are a combination of ChargePoint and third-party hardware. All the telemetry from these managed hardware devices contributes to a massive data lake. ChargePoint applies AI, ML, and analytics to this dataset to enhance the cloud software end-user experience, charging experience for drivers, and optimize network operations. There are a range of new exciting use cases and problems we can solve with this data and advanced application of AI. The leader in this role will lead a team of data and software engineers, as well as data scientists, to drive new software innovation applying AI/ML to enhance differentiation and solve end-user/customer problems, advancing the state of the art in management of EV charging infrastructure.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Define and Execute AI & Data Strategy: Work with product managers and business stakeholders to define a long-term vision for differentiation with Data by applying AI and ML. Translate this vision into an execution plan, delivering products, features, and functions to support customer use cases and business outcomes.
- Lead, Expand and Mentor AI, Analytics Team: You will strengthen a team of approximately 25 engineers by hiring top talent. Oversee the AI & Data Engineering functions across three time zones that serve as the backbone of ChargePoint’s data assets. You will guide and mentor the team to execute at a high intensity. Your leadership will inspire the AI team to deliver cutting-edge innovation, transforming AI insights into a strategic advantage for the company, and pushing the envelope of what's possible.
- Own AI & Data Engineering Technology Direction: You'll architect and guide a scalable data & AI platform that is the strong foundation for real-time AI-based predictive and prescriptive insights, facilitating data-driven optimizations. This part of the role is about building and maintaining the 'how'—the infrastructure and applications that power customer use cases.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with product, engineering, marketing, and operations functions to align initiatives with company-wide goals, and foster a culture where data and AI innovation play a key part of the company’s Go-To-Market framework.
- Data Governance: Establish a foundation of trust in our data. Implement best-in-class governance practices working with the company’s cybersecurity, cloud operations, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, security, and compliance—empowering ChargePoint to move fast without violating customer trust, privacy, and government regulations.
