Job summary

Senior Director of Clinical Training at Mental Health America of Los Angeles leads the design, delivery, and improvement of internal clinical training across North and South County, aligning with evidence-based care and licensing requirements.

They establish shared standards and ethics, supervise training quality, and partner with leadership to support both clinical and non-clinical staff, including onboarding and professional development, to advance the agency’s model of care.

Qualifications

• Active California clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, PsyD, or PhD) in good standing.
• Minimum five years of progressive clinical experience, with at least three years in clinical training or leadership.
• Experience designing and delivering training to licensed and/or pre-licensure clinicians.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and regulatory standards in community mental health.
• Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills across regions and programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and continuously improve internal clinical training across North and South County, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practice and regulatory requirements.
• Establish shared standards, core competencies, and ethical practices across the workforce.
• Help set training quality standards and collect outcome data to guide refinement.
• Partner with clinical leadership to strengthen supervision structures and support trainers.
• Develop trainings for non-clinical staff, including onboarding and role clarity.
• Create curricula and competency frameworks for licensed and pre-licensure clinicians and staff.
• Support intern and trainee programs with training content and development pathways.
• Identify workforce learning needs and build professional development offerings.
