Job summary

Mental Health America of Los Angeles (MHALA) seeks a Senior Director of Clinical Training to strengthen training and clinical infrastructure across North and South County, ensuring staff receive consistent, high‑quality training, supervision, and professional development.

Working with the VP of Training and Education, the executive team, and Human Resources, this role develops and sustains internal systems that help staff grow in competence and confidence.

Qualifications

• Active California clinical license (LCSW, LMFT, or licensed PsyD/PhD) in good standing.
• Five (5) years of progressive clinical experience, with at least three (3) years in clinical training, curriculum design, or clinical leadership.
• Experience designing and delivering training to licensed and/or pre-licensure clinicians.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and regulatory standards in community mental health.
• Strong facilitation, written communication, and interpersonal skills; able to work across regions, programs, and roles.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and improve internal clinical training across North and South County.
• Establish and maintain shared standards, core competencies, and ethical practices.
• Monitor training quality using feedback and outcome data.
• Strengthen supervision structures and support supervisors across regions.
• Develop trainings for non-clinical staff, onboarding, boundaries, and role clarity.
• Create curricula, competency frameworks, and onboarding paths for clinicians and staff.
• Support intern and trainee programs with training content and development pathways.
• Identify workforce learning needs and provide professional development opportunities.
• Coordinate with VP of Training and Education, HR, and leadership to integrate training with organizational goals.
• Serve as a clinical role model and mentor, promoting recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.
