Mt. Olive Pickle Company, Inc. seeks a Director of Agricultural Procurement to lead strategy, sourcing, and risk management for cucumbers, peppers, carrots, okra, mushrooms, and other key commodities to support production and customer commitments.

You will build grower relationships, negotiate contracts, manage budgets, oversee crop planning, ensure compliance with food safety and H-2A labor requirements, and lead a high-performing procurement team across the supply network.

Qualifikationen

• Must have strategic sourcing experience across multiple commodities.
• Strong cost analysis and forecasting capabilities.
• Budget management and procurement planning experience.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation with growers and suppliers.
• Understanding of H-2A labor requirements is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety and traceability standards.

Aufgaben

• Develop and execute a comprehensive agricultural sourcing strategy for key commodities.
• Lead annual and multi-year crop planning to align with production forecasts.
• Own budgets, forecasts, and purchase commitments; adjust as conditions change.
• Negotiate crop contracts and commercial terms with growers, packers, and suppliers.
• Build long-term relationships with growers and suppliers through effective communication.
• Assess labor availability and H-2A costs and their impact on pricing.
• Analyze total delivered cost to support negotiations and sourcing decisions.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate weather, disease, and supply risks.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Finance, R&D, Legal, and Sales to meet specs and demand.
• Establish supplier performance measures and conduct reviews; drive improvement.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, traceability, and ethical standards.
• Lead and develop the procurement team; promote integrity and continuous improvement.
• Represent Mt. Olive with growers, associations, agencies, and partners.
• Perform other duties and lead special projects as assigned.
