Merck seeks a Senior Director, Team Lead for U.S. Medical Affairs (USMA) within the Value & Implementation organization.

You will lead a team of PHS Medical Affairs Directors to drive scientific engagement, insights generation, and account strategy across payer and health-system accounts. You will guide budget planning, cross-functional collaboration with Commercial, GMVC, and OR, and mentoring to develop leadership across the portfolio while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and

Qualifications

• Advanced health-care/science doctoral degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).
• Three (3) years in customer-facing, field medical-affairs role or relevant experience.
• Deep knowledge of health-systems environment (e.g., payers, IDNs).
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. health-care delivery-system structure and function.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, onboards, trains, leads and manages a team of field-based health systems Medical Affairs (MA) professionals.
• Manages performance management processes including assessments, coaching visits, and development plans.
• Oversees portfolio product launches and in-line medical affairs plans with MAP alignment.
• Provides insights back to HQ from internal and external stakeholders across the health-systems continuum.
• Coordinates with Commercial, Country MA, GMVC and OR leadership to oversee strategic account plans.
• Collaborates with Commercial to ensure national and regional medical account coverage.
