Job Description

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Director, Market Access & Reimbursement to join our MedTech organization within the United States. Remote work options may be considered on a case-by-case basis and if approved by the company.

This is a field-based, remote role available within the United States. While specific cities are listed for reference, they do not limit your application. Candidates from various locations are encouraged to apply.

The Senior Director will lead and implement the US reimbursement strategy for Shockwave’s products, focusing on coding, coverage, and payment for intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) therapy. The role requires expertise in securing access for novel technologies, influencing payor policies, and working with government and market access partners. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing reimbursement strategies for current and future products, including advocacy with key opinion leaders and physician societies.
  • Developing market access strategies to secure payer coverage, especially for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
  • Leading and managing the US Reimbursement Team.
  • Building global value dossiers and health technology assessments.
  • Collaborating with Clinical & Medical Affairs to develop cost-effectiveness data.
  • Managing global consultants and projects.
  • Creating educational materials for reimbursement and market access.
  • Monitoring health policy and regulatory developments.
  • Engaging with CMS and other payers to influence policy and reimbursement processes.
  • Leading submissions for coding, coverage, and HTA evaluations.
  • Supporting product development and strategic pricing with market access insights.
  • Participating in internal teams and supporting product launches.
  • Analyzing healthcare policies to support product pipeline success.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree (MBA or advanced degree preferred), 15+ years of professional experience with 7+ years in medical device market access/reimbursement, and expertise in US healthcare reimbursement pathways. Strong communication, relationship-building, analytical, and project management skills are essential. Ability to travel up to 20% is required.
