Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Seattle seeks a seasoned Director of Capital Campaigns to lead major donor cultivation, grant submittals, and prospect development for the Association and its branches.

You will direct research on volunteers, coordinate grant requests, oversee CRM integration with development efforts, and support broader development, communications and public relations activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, financial development, communication, public relations, human services or equivalent.
• Seven or more years of successful full-time financial development experience in a non-profit organization with an emphasis on annual and capital campaigns, volunteer development and donor cultivation.
• Five or more years' experience managing and supporting community leaders and major donors contributing at or above $1M annually.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs aspects of capital fundraising and oversees major donor procurement and stewardship for the Association including directing the Association-wide effort, branch readiness, prospect development and cultivation, private/public grant submittals and solicitation activities.
• Supports the Association Capital Campaign to successfully achieve its benchmarks and goals. Includes the preparation and distribution of accurate reporting tools to YMCA senior staff, campaign chairs and the campaign committee.
• Develops and manages the capital prospect development, research, solicitation and donor cultivation program of the Association.
• Directs and supports the business services for Financial Development of the campaign - to include 15,000+ prospects and donors - assuring an accurate database, reports, timely billings and collections, as well as effective acknowledgements and cultivation mailings.
• Directs the donor cycle including research, clearance, engagement, recognition and event planning; also assures that all donors are appropriately recognized via building recognitions and opening events.
• Directs the Association’s grant assignments and coordination, grant writing, record management and follow up reports.
• Leads the development of all collateral materials for the campaign, including case publications, presentation materials (paper and digital) and campaign newsletters.
• Provides overall leadership and management of staff/team members, inclusive of hiring, performance management and development.
• Supports the culture of philanthropy and fundraising of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, as well as assigned branches.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary Directs and manages aspects of capital fundraising and oversees major donor procurement and stewardship for the Association including directing the Association-wide effort, branch readiness, prospect development and cultivation, private/public grant submittals and solicitation activities. Supports the other development, communications and public relations activities of the department.

Target salary range: $109,000-115,000/year Schedule: Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm. Occasional after-hours availability based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of successful full-time financial development experience in a non-profit organization with an emphasis on annual and capital campaigns, volunteer development and donor cultivation.
• Five or more years successful experience managing and supporting community leaders and major donors contributing at or above $1M annually.
• Must possess strong organizational skills, event planning skills and the ability to build relationships effectively with staff and volunteers.
• Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of philanthropy within an organization.
• Ability to exercise effective judgment and resourcefulness in setting priorities.
• Direct experience in relationship building internal and external to an organization with volunteers, senior level community leaders and staff.
• Direct experience working with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.).
• Strong and engaging verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong, results-oriented collaboration, project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities with attention to quality and timeliness.
• Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule consistent with the demands and needs of an executive team, volunteers, community leaders, and related special events.
• Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with, diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English may be helpful.
