Job summary

TelevisaUnivision is seeking a Senior Director of Legal Operations to lead strategic planning, technology adoption, and vendor management for the Legal department. You will drive efficiency, scalability, and financial discipline by integrating data-driven processes and AI-enabled tools across matters, billing, and knowledge management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• 15+ years of total work experience in operations or law firm management, ten years in legal operations.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic and operational plans and delivering measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, quality, and service.
• In-depth understanding of law firm billing, pricing and compensation practices
• Demonstrated experience with alternative fee arrangement cost modeling
• At least two years' experience evaluating, implementing and using legal technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions (including contract lifecycle management, electronic billing and ediscovery), with a demonstrated ability to translate technology capabilities into meaningful business improvements and cost efficiencies.
• Technology- and AI-savvy; proficient in all Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel; expertise with electronic billing and contract management software.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Execution: identify innovative strategies to increase value and reduce outside legal spend while maintaining representation.
• Finance and Budget Management: partner with Legal leadership, finance and procurement to develop and manage the annual operating plan and budgets.
• Legal Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence: lead the department’s technology and AI strategy and implement tools to streamline operations and cut costs.
• Outside Counsel and Legal Vendor Management: manage master retention agreements, pricing models and vendor relationships, including RFPs and fee negotiations.
• Communications & Administration: align legal workflows with priorities and support onboarding with HR and policy implementation.
• Talent Management and Education: track CLE requirements and provide regular CLE programming for department lawyers.
