Job summary

ZRG Partners has been retained to identify a Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations for a large-scale, highly regulated pharmaceutical operation in the Greater Chicago area. This senior leader will oversee multiple departments, drive performance, and ensure safety, quality, and cost targets are met at scale.

The role requires extensive cGMP experience, a track record of improving productivity, and leadership of a multi-shift, multi-site manufacturing organization with ~400 employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, engineering, technical, or related discipline or equivalent education and relevant experience.
• Demonstrated track record leading large, technically complex pharmaceutical operations in a regulated setting.
• Strong ability to drive safety, quality, productivity, and regulatory readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations across multiple production areas and shifts.
• Develop and execute manufacturing plans to meet quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
• Lead managers to achieve site manufacturing, safety, quality, and performance goals.
• Build organizational capability through hiring, development, coaching, and succession planning.
• Optimize workforce, resources, and material utilization to meet annual operating and budget objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase productivity and reduce defects and rework.
• Ensure Right-First-Time execution and timely deviation closure for on-time batch release.
• Sponsor site projects including capital equipment installation and layout changes.
• Monitor key metrics such as OEE, output, quality, and site performance.
