Job summary

The JCC East Bay in Oakland, CA is seeking a Senior Director of Jewish Education and Programs to lead educational strategy and program development across the organization. This in-person, full-time role partners with the CJEO, supervises program leaders, and shapes learning experiences for children, teens, families, and adults.

The position requires 10–15+ years in Jewish education or related fields, a track record in senior leadership, and budgets/operations oversight.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in Jewish education, experiential education, youth and family programming, or related field.
• Experience in senior leadership roles with direct supervision and staff development.
• Proven ability to lead and implement educational programs from concept to execution.
• Strong budget management, resource allocation, and program operations oversight.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Chief Jewish Education Officer to translate vision into meaningful programs.
• Lead implementation of educational priorities and strategic initiatives across programs.
• Collaborate with directors and educators to strengthen learning experiences and set annual goals.
• Provide hands-on leadership for selected programs and initiatives, including events and gatherings.
• Oversee program quality through evaluation, reflection, and continuous improvement.
• Build partnerships with local organizations and community leaders to expand reach and impact.
• Oversee budgets, calendars, staffing plans, enrollment goals, and operational priorities.
