What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive research security program across the health system
- Collaborate with research leadership and stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring regulatory compliance
- Stay current on emerging threats and best practices in research security to enhance the program
- Lead the Information Security Team in developing and maintaining security policies and procedures
- Oversee performance of IT risk assessments and manage remediation activities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field
- 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership/management experience
- Deep understanding of research security principles and cybersecurity threats
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CRISC
- Experience creating and implementing research security policies and training programs
- Familiarity with NSPM-33 and federal funding agency security requirements
- Technical proficiency with security technologies, including data loss prevention and encryption tools
- Background in specific research areas within healthcare, such as clinical trials or genomics research
