The Senior Director of Infection Solutions will spearhead a company-wide initiative aimed at reducing the risk of infections associated with surgical procedures, with a primary focus on orthopedic surgeries. Reporting directly to the Chief Innovation, Strategy and Business Development Officer, this position will be responsible for shaping and executing the infection solutions strategy. This will be accomplished through a cross-functional team, encompassing product development, marketing, clinical research, commercialization, and business development.
This remote role offers flexibility and can be based anywhere in the United States
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive infection solutions strategy, including the identification of key market opportunities, development of product roadmaps, and establishment of clinical research objectives and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners distributed among various business units and regions to execute the infection solutions strategy.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, including orthopedic surgeons, infection prevention experts, regulatory agencies, and industry partners, to drive the development and adoption of infection solutions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and other external influencers to promote the company's infection solutions capabilities and thought leadership in the field
- Identify and evaluate potential business development opportunities, including licensing and acquisition deals, to round out the infection solutions portfolio.
- Partner with Business Unit leaders to ensure the timely and efficient execution of infection solutions projects, including managing project budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership on the progress of infection solutions initiatives, including clinical research outcomes and commercialization efforts
- Work closely with the company's sales and marketing teams to ensure the effective commercialization of infection solutions products and services.

- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate complex business opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of global healthcare systems, including financial flows and stakeholder incentives for surgical complications.
- In-depth knowledge of orthopedic surgery and infection management practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in various aspects of medical device development, marketing, evidence generation, and commercial support.
- Self-starter with demonstrated intrinsic motivation, including the ability to deliver high-quality results within strict time constraints
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner
- Ability and ambition to grow within the company
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelors required with an advanced degree in a related field (e.g., biomedical engineering, public health, microbiology) preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries, or equivalent academic experience.
- Proven ability to operate at both strategic (long-term, higher-level) and tactical (short-term, project-based) levels
