Job description

CHEP helps move more goods to more people, in more places than any other organization on earth via our 347 million pallets, crates and containers. We employ approximately 13,000 people and operate in 60 countries. Through our pioneering and sustainable share-and-reuse business model, the world’s biggest brands trust us to help them transport their goods more efficiently, safely and with less environmental impact.

What does that mean for you? You’ll join an international organization big enough to take you anywhere, and small enough to get you there sooner. You’ll help change how goods get to market and contribute to global sustainability. You’ll be empowered to bring your authentic self to work and be surrounded by diverse and driven professionals. And you can maximize your work-life balance and flexibility through our Hybrid Work Model.

As Head of Enterprise Data Transformation, you’ll lead the enterprise-wide transformation needed to strengthen Brambles’ data management capability and establish trusted data as a genuine strategic business asset.

You’ll be here to drive the transformation, not simply inherit BAU. You’ll mobilise the programme, create momentum and bring the delivery discipline, adoption and change needed to build a sustainable capability, before transitioning long-term ownership into the appropriate business, governance and capability teams.

You’ll bring together Technology Services, Digital, Enterprise Data Management, Data Governance, ERP/Simplify, Global Process Owners, Global Process Leads and business leaders around one coordinated enterprise data transformation roadmap, connecting the programme to business priorities, risk reduction and future ERP readiness.

You’ll act as the central point of coordination and escalation for the Data Management Programme, creating transparency around progress and ensuring success is measured by more than milestones. We’ll look to you to demonstrate tangible improvements in data maturity, control effectiveness, adoption and business value.

Crucially, you’ll help make the transformation stick. You’ll lead the change, communication and data literacy agenda, strengthen data ownership and stewardship, and work with HR, the Transformation Office and business leaders to embed the operating model and ways of working needed for sustainable BAU ownership.

Major/Key Accountabilities
  • Develop, maintain and govern the enterprise data transformation roadmap, aligned to Brambles’ strategic priorities, risk appetite and ERP/Simplify foundation requirements.
  • Translate business, risk, ERP and data capability priorities into a sequenced portfolio of transformation initiatives with clear outcomes, owners and dependencies.
  • Ensure data transformation investments and resource priorities are aligned to measurable business value, maturity uplift and control effectiveness.
  • Lead execution of the enterprise Data Management Programme, coordinating delivery across TS, Digital, Enterprise Data Management, Data Governance, ERP/Simplify, GPO/GPL and business teams.
  • Chair or lead programme governance and steering forums, ensuring transparent visibility of progress, risks, issues, dependencies and decisions.
  • Provide escalation management where capability ownership, delivery dependencies, data standards, decision rights or business adoption are unclear or blocked.
ERP/Simplify Data Readiness
  • Ensure priority ERP/Simplify data dependencies are visible, including data ownership, master data standards, data quality remediation needs, migration readiness assumptions and data operating model requirements.
  • Partner with Global Process Owners, Global Process Leads and the ERP/Simplify programme to embed data ownership and governance into process harmonisation and future ERP decision-making.
Operating Model, Controls & Change
  • Define programme requirements for the future data operating model, including decision rights, handover points, stewardship engagement and BAU ownership expectations.
  • Lead organisational change, communication and adoption activities required to embed new data management practices, data literacy and data-driven ways of working.
  • Work with accountable owners to ensure data quality, metadata, master data, governance and control requirements are transitioned into sustainable BAU practices.
  • Define and track transformation outcomes, maturity improvements, risk reduction, adoption indicators and business value measures.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based reporting to executive stakeholders, leadership forums and risk communities.
Experience
  • Technical leader with experience with enterprise data management, master data, data quality, metadata, data governance, data ownership or data stewardship improvement programmes.
  • Significant experience leading enterprise-wide transformation or data management programmes in large, global and matrixed organisations.
  • Experience defining and delivering operating model change, governance structures, decision rights and capability transition to BAU ownership.
  • Strong experience managing senior executive stakeholders and influencing outcomes through resources and teams that do not directly report into the role.
  • Experience supporting ERP or major enterprise platform transformation, including data readiness, process harmonisation and business adoption dependencies.
  • Experience defining benefits, maturity measures, KRIs, control outcomes and executive reporting for transformation programmes.
  • Experience working with external partners, advisors or vendors to deliver specialist transformation, data or assurance outcomes.
Knowledge
  • Data governance frameworks, data ownership and stewardship models
  • Master data management, data quality management, metadata and lineage awareness
  • Enterprise transformation leadership and programme execution
  • Strategic planning, roadmap development and portfolio prioritisation
  • Programme governance, executive reporting and escalation management
  • ERP/Simplify data readiness, process harmonisation and data operating model dependencies
  • Risk, controls, KRIs, compliance awareness and evidence-based maturity reporting
  • Change management, communications, adoption and enterprise data literacy
  • Business case development, benefits realisation and value tracking
  • Operating model design, RACI/decision-rights definition and transition to BAU ownership
  • Senior stakeholder engagement, constructive challenge and executive communication
  • Financial, commercial, vendor and partner management acumen
  • Strong influencing, facilitation and problem-solving skills in a complex global matrix
