Job summary

Michels Corporation is seeking a Director of Government Contract Accounting to lead accounting and reporting for all government contracts and related costing activities. You will ensure FAR and CAS compliance, and collaborate across business units to implement policies, processes, and reporting requirements.

A strong, detail-oriented leader with experience in ICP/ICS, FPRA, and DCAA interactions is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or operations management; 10+ years’ experience in government contracting, including pre-award and post-award contract management or an equivalent combination.
• Extensive knowledge of FAR and CAS including ICP/ICS, FPRA, and certified cost or pricing data requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and improving systems and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently develop and execute project management plans.
• Must possess a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record.
• CFCM or CPCM designation (desired).
• Experience interfacing with the DCAA (desired).

Responsibilities

• Lead Michels’ efforts in accounting and reporting of all government contracts and related costing activities.
• Ensure compliance with government accounting regulations including FAR and CAS.
• Collaborate across business units and communicate financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
• Establish/modify policies and processes and oversee fulfillment of all reporting requirements.
• Build and maintain a high-performing government contract accounting team.
