Job summary

Michels Corporation is seeking a Director of Government Contract Accounting to lead the government contracts accounting and costing activities with a focus on FAR/CAS compliance. The role requires cross-functional collaboration, policy development, and reporting oversight across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have extensive government contracting experience, strong analytical and leadership skills, and be capable of building a high-performing team while guiding complex cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or operations management.
• 10+ years’ experience in government contracting, including pre-award and post-award contract management or an equivalent combination.
• Extensive knowledge of FAR and CAS which includes ICP/ICS, FPRA, and certified cost or pricing data requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated experience in identifying and improving systems and procedures.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to independently develop and execute project management plans.
• Must possess a valid driver license and acceptable driving record.
• Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) designation (desired).
• Experience interfacing with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) (desired).

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and reporting of government contracts and related costing activities.
• Ensure compliance with FAR/CAS and related government accounting regulations.
• Cross-business collaboration and effective communication within Michels.
• Establish/modify policies and processes; oversee fulfillment of reporting requirements.
• Build and mentor a high-performing government contracts accounting team.
