Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Senior Director, Payroll, Time Tracking & Absence (PATT) to lead global HR technology and payroll operations from its Indianapolis base. You will own US payroll end-to-end and influence global time management and absence, steering AI-forward payroll capabilities and Workday PATT excellence.

You will partner with Finance, Legal, and HR leadership to transform processes, automate capabilities, and drive SOX-compliant controls while delivering accurate, timely payroll for Lilly’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, HR, or related field.
• 10+ years of global payroll operations experience and scale transformation.
• Workday Payroll expertise with Time Tracking & Absence modules.
• Proficient in SOX compliance, GAAP payroll accounting, multi-jurisdiction tax.
• Experience leading payroll transformations including automation and AI-enabled improvements.
• Experience in a large global public company; life sciences or regulated industry preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time (visa sponsorship not provided).

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end US payroll operations and regulatory compliance.
• Lead payroll readiness for new country launches and entity changes.
• Oversee Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence roadmap.
• Govern vendor relationships and ensure SOX audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and HR leadership on payroll strategy.
