I. JOB SUMMARY


The Senior Director of Global Ethics & Compliance will lead the development of key elements of Emergent Biosolutions global compliance program, and act as the primary Business Partner providing compliance advice, training, and support to the Commercial, Medical, R&D and Corporate functions. Ideally, this person would be a strong generalist with expertise in the pharmaceutical, medical device and/or Over-The-Counter medicine space.
Additionally, they will be the primary owner of the Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption program and will help drive Emergent's Third Party Risk Management program. Experience operationalizing program elements through tools and technology would be valuable.
This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer and may be Remote.
This position will have broad familiarity with the US and International laws and Codes of Practice governing the activities of pharmaceutical manufacturers.



II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Serve as the primary lead to execute Emergent's global compliance program objectives within the Commercial, Medical, R&D and Corporate functions.
* Establish strong relationships with and serve as an advisor, business partner and trusted resource to the business stakeholders (e.g., Narcan, Government Product, Government Affairs, Medical Affairs, Communications and Business Operations teams).
* The business partner will be a strong communicator who can translate ethical and compliance requirements to the business and leadership.
* Lead the development and delivery of selected elements of Emergent's enterprise-wide compliance program, specifically the Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABAC) and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) programs.
* Ensure compliance with international laws and regulations related to ABAC.
* Conduct risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability and implement preventive measures.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess, monitor, and manage risks associated with external partners.
* Establish due diligence processes for third-party relationships, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Conduct monitoring and auditing of prioritized risk areas. Partner with the business to address findings.
* Provide support for compliance investigations related to potential violations of policies, laws or regulations and oversee corrective actions with the business
* Maintain sound knowledge of the US and International laws, regulations, and industry codes of practice relevant to Emergent's business activities. Work closely with Legal to monitor the external environment for any changes, determine the potential impact of changes on the compliance program, and oversee any necessary revisions
* Partner and communicate regularly with other members of the Compliance team to ensure consistency and efficiency in approach across Emergent's other business units.

III. MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS


Education: Advanced degree required


Experience: 8+ relevant compliance with most recent experiences serving in a global in pharma, biotech or related environment.


Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of relevant laws governing the business activities of international pharmaceutical companies (e.g. UK Bribery Act, FCPA, GDPR) and industry codes relevant to the commercialization of pharmaceuticals


Skills: Savvy with digital and tech-enhanced communications and learning platforms. Comfortable developing metrics to empower continued evolution of the compliance program.


Abilities: Demonstrated sound judgment and acts with integrity and ethics in all dealings, possesses humility, self-awareness, sense of humor, and openness to various perspective. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English required

U.S. Base Pay Ranges and Benefits Information


The estimated annual base salary as a new hire for this position ranges from $234,500 - $283,700. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. Certain roles are eligible for additional incentive compensation, including merit increases, annual bonus, [and/or long-term incentives in the form of stock options.]
