Job summary

Plona Partners in Los Angeles seeks a Director of Strategic Client Finance for a prestigious AmLaw firm. You will lead global client portfolio finance, oversee revenue management, forecasting, profitability, and compliance, reporting to the executive leadership.

This role collaborates with relationship partners and legal operations, builds governance frameworks, and mentors finance teams across regions to optimize billing, collections, WIP, and matter profitability.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in law firm finance and revenue management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary finance teams.
• Experience with global institutional clients and international operations.
• Ability to advise senior partners and executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership across a high-value global client portfolio, including revenue management, financial planning, forecasting, profitability, and compliance.
• Partner with senior law firm leadership, relationship partners, and legal operations executives to influence commercial strategy and financial performance.
• Lead and develop finance, revenue management, and invoice compliance teams.
• Oversee billing operations, collections, realization, WIP, matter budgeting, and revenue optimization.
• Establish governance frameworks, reporting dashboards, and controls to improve efficiency and accountability.
• Manage financial oversight of an international network of local counsel and external providers.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen profitability and support expansion of a major institutional client relationship.
