Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Senior Director, Vaccine Development Project Leadership – Farm Animal R&D to lead multi-functional teams from pipeline entry through approval across species and geographies. You will partner with R&D and Commercial leaders to advance new vaccine opportunities and oversee the FA vaccine portfolio.

The role offers a growth trajectory to oversee the entire FA vaccine pipeline, delivering strategic impact for Elanco’s global portfolio and ensuring programs meet timelines, budgets

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline plus industry experience.
• Proven vaccine project leadership history across species, technology types and R&D stages.
• Proven project leadership at all stages of product development, including launch of farm animal vaccines.
• Experience working within regulated product development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project goals OTIF by proactively managing plans and teams within approved timing and budget.
• Define optimized project plans including internal/external resource needs for R&D and manufacturing, costs and margins.
• Ensure milestones are identified, monitored, and communicated.
• Collaborate with Corporate Strategy, Global Launch, Manufacturing and Quality for project valuation and ROI.
• Assemble, revise and lead the project team as the project progresses.
• Assign SMEs to project needs and work with leaders to plan and execute projects.
• Communicate with SMEs to plan and execute projects.
• Set clear goals and hold teams accountable.
• Influence and motivate project teams; foster creativity.
• Align with the project manager on plans and timelines and budgets.
• Provide strategic inputs for accurate plans and timelines.
• Identify risks and opportunities and communicate to executive leadership.
• Proactively communicate risks, mitigations and remediations.
• Lead engagements with regulatory agencies and external collaborators as needed.
• Serve on product task forces supporting R&D and commercial projects.
