Job summary

Tarsus Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Sr Director, Clinical Sciences to lead the eyecare Clinical Science function from early development through lifecycle management. You will partner with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Biostats, Medical Affairs and Commercial to translate target product profiles into robust development plans and high-quality trial designs.

The role demands advanced degrees with 10+ years in biotech/pharma development and 8+ years in leadership, with ophthalmology experience

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in sciences (e.g. PharmD, MD, PhD)
• Experience in ophthalmology preferred; dermatology or infectious diseases a plus
• Minimum of 10 years of biotech/pharmaceutical clinical development experience with at least 8 years in leadership of clinical trial management
• Established leadership track record with problem solving, collaboration, and communication skills
• Expertise with SOPs, GCPs and regulatory guidelines for clinical trials
• Hands-on willingness to delve into details

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific leadership to cross-functional study and program teams, ensuring timely study start-up, enrollment, database lock, analysis, and readouts
• Lead the design of clinical development plans and individual study protocols
• Own clinical deliverables including protocol development, document authoring, data review, and execution decisions
• Shape clinical plans including timelines, budgets and oversight of clinical teams
• Build relationships with investigators, KOLs, and external partners; contribute to publications
• Drive innovation in endpoints, biomarkers, and digital tools; improve processes and data review frameworks
• Author and review key clinical and regulatory documents (protocols, SAPs, CSRs, IBs, value dossiers)
• Conduct research to develop educational material for early development strategies
• Interpret clinical data and support data-driven decisions
• Serve as program lead on early development Core teams and scientific advisory boards
• Engage with stakeholders and regulators
• Demonstrate leadership competencies and drive capacity building across the team
• Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Translational Sciences, Biostatistics, Medical Affairs to ensure robust designs and execution
