Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Director, External Manufacturing to lead operations across the North America external manufacturing (EM) network. The role is onsite/hybrid and directs a team of virtual plant managers to ensure reliable supply for patients.

Responsibilities include strategy execution, governance, and cost management with external partners. The position requires deep GMP knowledge, cross-functional leadership, and a track record in manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree is required, other advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing operations (general manufacturing, business unit lead, etc) with preference in drug product manufacturing and business management.

Responsibilities

• Leads pharmaceutical manufacturing operations across the regional external manufacturing network to ensure reliable medicine supply and manufacturing performance.
• Builds external partnerships, drives risk management, and ensures cost competitiveness across the network.
• Oversees technology transfers, launches, line extensions, and product changes at external manufacturers to ensure readiness and timely availability.
