Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned technology leader for the role of Senior Director, Enterprise Applications Engineering to join a Fortune 100 organization. This critical leadership position is responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and continuous improvement of enterprise platforms across Finance, HR, and other key business enablement functions. The role will lead global engineering teams across platform engineering, software development, automation, and AI enablement.

This individual will drive innovation and modern engineering practices with a focus on speed, scalability, quality, and technical excellence. A key responsibility includes leading the transformation of legacy systems (e.g., AS/400 and rehosted mainframes) into modern, cloud-native solutions like Workday and custom enterprise platforms—enabling a more agile, integrated, and data-driven digital ecosystem.

The ideal candidate possesses deep technical expertise, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to lead globally distributed teams while delivering business value through modern technologies and AI-driven software delivery models.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Delivery

• Own the enterprise application engineering roadmap for Finance, HR, and shared business enablement platforms such as RPA and Intelligent Automation.
• Drive AI-enabled software development practices (e.g., generative AI for code generation, automated testing, defect prediction) to enhance productivity and reduce time-to-value.
• Lead the enterprise ERP modernization strategy, including migration from legacy platforms to scalable, cloud-based solutions (e.g., Workday, SAP, D365).
• Oversee global engineering operations, resource allocation, and delivery execution—leveraging both internal teams (e.g., Global In-House Centers in Sri Lanka) and strategic vendors.

Technology & Architecture

• Define and evolve enterprise engineering strategies focused on automation, observability, and intelligent delivery pipelines.
• Guide architectural design, technical integration, data governance, and system security across platforms.
• Drive delivery of core enterprise platforms:
• HCM: Workday, ADP, Radancy, and partner ecosystems
• Finance: Workday, SAP, Dynamics 365
• AI & Automation: Blue Prism, Microsoft Power Platform, internal agentic AI tools

Operational Excellence & Financial Management

• Manage multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets, with accountability for forecast accuracy, TCO optimization, and ROI.
• Establish DevSecOps maturity and CI/CD pipelines across teams to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient software delivery.
• Drive vendor governance to ensure compliance, service-level performance, and alignment to enterprise architecture standards.
• Build and lead high-performing, geographically distributed engineering teams with a focus on talent development, succession planning, and engagement.
• Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across global delivery centers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data, and compliance to maintain consistent standards and practices.

Mergers & Acquisitions Integration

• Support system integration strategies for mergers and acquisitions—aligning data, platforms, and business processes across the enterprise.
