Qualifications

  • Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic vision and executive leadership for global engineering and advanced manufacturing functions.
  • Architect and implement long-term engineering roadmaps aligned with business growth and innovation strategies.
  • Lead large-scale process optimization, automation, and cost-reduction initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Champion the adoption of advanced technologies, smart manufacturing, and digital transformation.
  • Develop and standardize world-class manufacturing processes that drive quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Build and lead high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering teams focused on continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations to ensure engineering excellence from concept to commercialization.
  • Establish and report on key engineering performance metrics tied to product quality, time-to-market, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure engineering programs comply with FDA, ISO, and other global regulatory standards.
  • Influence capital investments and infrastructure decisions to support long-term manufacturing strategy.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to senior executives and contribute to strategic planning and organizational development.

Position Overview:

The Senior Director of Engineering is a critical leader within Argon Medical, responsible for defining and executing the global engineering strategy across our medical device manufacturing operations. This role will lead cross-functional engineering teams, drive technological innovation, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and elevate operational performance across all sites. The Senior Director will partner closely with executive leadership to align engineering initiatives with corporate goals, ensuring scalability, compliance, and competitive advantage.

What you will do:

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Oversees the execution and prioritization of complex engineering projects and continuous improvement programs.
  • Provides coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to emerging leaders within the engineering function.
Skills for Success:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in advanced manufacturing or engineering leadership roles.
  • 8+ years of experience in senior-level engineering management with multi-site or global oversight.
  • Medical device industry experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Education and experience
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), or related field.
  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent lean manufacturing certifications.
  • Experience integrating new technologies (e.g., automation, robotics, digital manufacturing).
