Position Title: Senior Director, Education and Partnerships
Status: Exempt, FT
Grade: 6
Department: Safety & Wellness Program: Education, Training & Partnerships Services
Reports To: Chief Empowerment Officer
Supervises: Manager, Education Services (2)
Salary: $90,000 - $95,000
Summary: The Senior Director, Education and Partnerships is responsible for leading violence prevention education, community mobilization, and capacity-building initiatives. Oversees program operations and collaborates across YWCA programs to promote trauma-informed practices.
Collaborates With: YWCA Executive Leadership, Safety and Wellness Leadership, community influencers, and stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities: Lead violence prevention initiatives, oversee program operations, and collaborate internally and externally to integrate trauma-informed and primary prevention practices.
Program Management: Develop and implement program goals, policies, and performance metrics; ensure compliance; evaluate performance; communicate policies; assess strategic direction; stay informed on industry trends; maintain records as required.
Education & Community Mobilization: Develop strategies for violence prevention education, deliver engaging content, lead community training, and participate in public speaking and coalition work to promote prevention efforts.
Talent Management & Development: Recruit, onboard, coach, and evaluate staff and volunteers; foster accountability and high performance.
Fiscal Responsibility & Resource Development: Manage budgets, track revenue and expenses, collaborate on funding opportunities, and support stakeholder engagement.
Professional Development: Pursue ongoing education, stay current on relevant guidelines and trends in violence prevention and education.
Non-Essential Responsibilities: Provide crisis response and victim advocacy as needed.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned for projects or special needs.
Qualifications:
Complete a forty-hour sexual assault crisis intervention training within ninety days of employment. Hold a bachelor’s degree in education, social work, public health, or related field, with four years of supervisory experience. Experience managing government contracts, grants, and community violence prevention initiatives. Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office and databases. Ability to work in shared office environments and travel throughout the Chicago area.
Work Environment: Shared office spaces, sites with children and adults, moderate noise, and physical movement requirements. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel within the Chicago metropolitan area and statewide.
Work Schedule: Typically Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM CST, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
